Mwamvita is an ICT specialist with over 15 years of experience in database design and programming of various application systems. Mwamvita currently works as a Senior Digital Heritage Coordinator for the National Museum of Tanzania (NMT), dealing with supervision of digital heritage management with a focus on digital conservation, documentation, photogrammetry and installation of digital exhibitions.
As a Digital Heritage expert, Mwamvita has been coordinating and leading various projects related to digital heritage management with well renowned museums and universities within and outside of Tanzania. From May 2025, she has been working with the University of York where she has been designing and developing a digital database for built heritage, monuments and sites in Tanzania under the MAEASaM Project.
Currently, Mwamvita is coordinating a five year (2024-2028) project of retrieving heritage archival data that have been recorded and documented from the 1960s to the late 1970s. The aim of this project is to share a digital database of heritage data where the database is to be preserved by the National Museum of Tanzania (NMT).
