Going Digital

Everything you need to know about going digital

In the spirit of shared knowledge, driving innovative solutions, and fostering interdisciplinary and collaborative engagement, a dedicated team of experts working on the MAEASaM project will continue to develop resources focused on ‘going digital’. Topics include digital databases, data management tools, and the guiding principles that inform open-access and data security in archaeology and heritage. See our latest workshops, video recordings, and reports.

Key aspects of data management

Mahmoud Abdelrazek, our project database developer and a data champion at the University of Cambridge, answers questions about all things data management and explains why it’s so important on the MAEASaM project. In this 10-minute video, Mahmoud talks about the benefits of sharing data, the use of data management plans, handling personal or sensitive data, the purposes of metadata, some of the challenges involved in trying to share data and ways to address these.

Going Digital: An introduction workshop on databases in archaeology.
