Drashti Nakrani

Researcher, Tanzania

Drashti completed her MA in Conservation of Historic Buildings at the University of York, UK in 2025 and holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from CEPT (Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology) University, India.
She was part of the team digitally documenting wooden havelis of Gujarat as part of the Endangered Wooden Architecture Program (EWAP) and is active member of the Yorkshire Vernacular Buildings Study Group (YVBSG).

Recording and analysing the multiple layers used within buildings is like peeling back history. An accessible database which can help to record this reliable heritage information is exciting. It is great to be working with the multidisciplinary team of the MAEASaM project, exploring the cultural heritage of a region that is new to me.

Drashti enjoys spending her free time exploring the outdoors or getting lost in a good book.
