Bourahima Ouédraogo is a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of History and Geography (FHG) of the Université des Sciences Sociales et de Gestion, Bamako (USSGB). He serves as the academic coordinator for the “Culture and Development” Master’s program and heads the History, Archaeology, and Heritage Laboratory (LHAP) within the FHG. After completing a Master’s degree in History and Archaeology at the then named Faculty of Letters, Languages, Arts, and Human Sciences (FLASH) in 2004, he pursued further studies at the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University , where he obtained a Diplôme d’Études Approfondies (DEA)—a postgraduate research diploma—in Prehistory, Ethnology, and Anthropology in 2005, followed by a Doctorate in Archaeology, Ethnology, and Prehistory in 2013.

In addition to his teaching duties, Bourahima has conducted numerous archaeological and historical research projects and heritage activities, most often in collaboration with Malian heritage and archaeology organizations (National Museum of Mali, Institute of Human Sciences, National Directorate of Cultural Heritage) and foreign institutions.

A passion for foreign cultures has always been a key factor in my travels. For me, every trip is an opportunity to step outside the confines of my own culture and enrich my understanding of the world. Whether through encounters with people, exploring historical and archaeological sites, or participating in cultural activities, I have always known that the richness of foreign cultures offers a unique and valuable perspective on human diversity.

Bourahima enjoys basketball, walking, and swimming. He is also active in community activities.
