Lourens is the Senior Cartographer at the University of Pretoria, Department of Geography, Geoinformatics and Meteorology. Before joining the University of Pretoria (2020), Lourens worked as a Geospatial Data Analyst for AfriGIS, a technology innovation company specialising in geographic information and communication solutions (1998 – 2020). His key interests include geographic accessibility, spatial analysis, and cartography.
In his spare time, Lourens enjoys fly fishing and mountain biking.
